🌾 Community Floral Workshop: Japanese New Year Shimenawa Wreath
Jul 30, 2024
🌾 Shimenawa <お正月飾り> is a traditional Japanese New Year decoration hung on doors, symbolizing purity, welcoming gods, and bringing good fortune, similar to how we put up couplets during our New Year. 🥰
🌾 Bring the atmosphere of Japanese New Year into our floral workshop! Once completed, the wreath can be hung on your door or wall as a decoration and also makes a great New Year’s gift! 🎁
🌾 For materials, we have specially chosen Five-Needle Pine, representing longevity, and rice and millet, symbolizing a bountiful harvest.
🌾 Course Content: Introduction to Shimenawa, understanding floral materials and tools, techniques for arranging flowers and colors, and hands-on wreath making.
🌾 Course Date: Feb 2021
